Assistant Director Medical Records

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

• The Assistant Director supervises and directs all positions of the Medical Record department. This position also works with One Content and Paragon applications.

SUPERVISION: Reports directly to the Director of HIM

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

• Performs statistics/audits for numerous reports.
• Checks scanned charts for completeness and correctness.
• Trains all new users on One Content system and adds them to work groups.
• Communicates with physicians and other personnel for One Content and Paragon applications.
• Maintains patient, departmental, and employee confidentiality at all times.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE

• Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA), Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) preferred.
• A minimum of 7 years of experience in a supervisory capacity.

Physical Demands/Work Environment

• Work requires light duty lifting.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Constantly operates a computer and other office machinery such as a scanner, copy machine, and computer printer.
• Must be able to exchange accurate information with patient, family, peers and medical personnel.
