Reporting to the Vice President, Contracting for Beth Israel Lahey Health Performance Network (BILHPN), the Director of Contracting is responsible for managing legal review, policy compliance, contract retention and administrative tracking of all contracts to which BILHPN, including its subsidiaries and affiliates, is a party. Will manage negotiation and execution of managed care contracts between BILHPN, other BILH entities, affiliated providers and various managed care payers. Advances BILHPN payer strategy and aligns negotiation with strategy.Job Description:
1. Partners with the Vice President, Contracting to negotiate and manage BILHPN contracts, including initiate, plan, finalize,
implement, report (written and verbal) and direct related negotiations. (essential)
2. Proposes contracting and pricing models and strategies using knowledge of market, local and national benchmarks, and payer market. Key member of negotiating team for company. (essential)
3. Negotiates contract language across all contracts, striving for uniformity among different contracts, partnering with the General Counsel as needed and as appropriate. (essential)
4. Coordinates finance, legal and operational reviews of contracts. Coordinates sign off on all proposed terms of contracts and amendments, adhering to Company contract sign off and approval processes, including sign off by the monitor of the Assurance of Discontinuance between the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and BILH. 5. Develops and adheres to all Company processes for tracking rates and terms of all contracts. (essential)
6. Oversees Contract Committees for BILHPN and affiliated entities as necessary. Works directly with committee chairs/co chairs to set agenda and direction of committees, as well as manage content of all materials for meetings. Responsible for creating presentation materials for presentations to senior leadership and Board members. (essential)
7. Works with the Contracts and Finance team of BILHPN to develop risk sharing methodologies for hospitals and physicians to share risk. Monitors methodologies and adjusts risk sharing strategies to account for changes in marketplace and contract terms. (essential)
8. Knowledgeable of all contracting efforts within BILHPN and BILH as it may apply to hospital, physician, home care and hospice, behavioral health, transplant, ancillary or international contracts, as at any time these may come under the auspices of
the Director. (essential)
9. Serves as a member of the BILHPN's Leadership Team; is a valuable member of the team based on core business subject matter expertise, general industry knowledge and skills and interest in being a member of a team. Consults with other members of the BILHPN Leadership Team on contract terms and updates to contracts that may apply to operational areas within BILHPN or BILH entities. (essential).
10. Has the authority to direct and support managers with functional area responsibilities. Has the direct responsibility to undertake the following employment actions: hiring, termination, corrective action and performance reviews.

1. Supervises contracting personnel, overseeing scope, direction and output of work, with focus on staff development. Ensures
staff is balancing competing major priorities
Required Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred.
2. 5-8 years related work experience required and 1-3 years supervisory/management experience required 3.
Negotiation and Presentation Skills.
4. Advanced skills with Microsoft applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access and other web
based applications. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.
Pay Range:
$150,000.00 USD - $195,000.00 USDThe pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
Anna Jaques Hospital is a 123 bed community hospital serving 17 cities and towns in the Merrimack Valley . The hospital offers a wide range of acute care services to meet the needs of our growing patient population including inpatient and outpatient surgery in fully digitized computerized operating room suites, cardiology including echocardiography and a cardiac cath lab, comprehensive cancer services, orthopedics, nuclear medicine, laboratory, noninvasive vascular lab, joint replacement program and birth center.
Programs include the number one wound center in the nation, a primary stroke service, and Level III Trauma Center . The hospitals Non Invasive Vascular laboratory was accredited by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL).
For the second year in a row, the American Association for Respiratory Care awarded the hospital its Quality Respiratory Care Recognition. The hospital had no ventilator acquired pneumonia cases during the last year.
The Wound Healing & Hyperbaric Center is the only such center to receive full accreditation from the Undersea and Hyperbaric Medical Society (UHMS) in Massachusetts .
