The Breast Health Support Representative II is responsible for the daily operations within the department to include providing support for access to images for interpretation and review by radiologists, referring physicians, and physicians involved in continuum of care of patients. Supports the daily operation of image interpretation/management and transfer, including preparation of soft copy image display, retrieving digital images for interpretation, and assisting customers with obtaining patient information and images. Manages filing of image related reports and documents into the EMR. Prepares images for reporting and performs quality control of reporting status. Responsible for coaching employees, monitoring progress, enforcing rules, and ensuring quality compliance.

Orders supplies according to budget guidelines and department needs.
Maintains accurate attendance records for employees.
Maintains QA statistics and reports results to the Director.
Assists and provides input on employee quarterly performance reviews.
Directly oversees the daily activities of the imaging librarian areas to ensure department standards are met.
Continually educates all image librarian staff of any changes pertinent to their roles.
When appropriate, relieves staff members during employee sick/vacation time.
Secures all signatures necessary for release of medical information,
Assumes on-call responsibilities to ensure adequate staffing and problem-solving.
Schedules and assists with evaluation processes; helps resolve patient and employee concerns.
Assists director to ensure all personnel and department policies and procedures are followed.
Supervises and maintains effectiveness of workflow.
Demonstrates knowledge of occurrence reporting system and utilizes system to report potential patient or employee safety issues.
Actively seeks ways to control costs without compromising patient safety, quality of care of the services delivered.
Downloads images from other institutions into the PACS system.
Routinely checks PACS monitors to ensure that studies are flowing from the acquisition modalities and are properly routed to the review stations to assure a clinical continuity of service.
Initiates and follows through with tracking missing images to point of acquisition, documents transmission of these images to PACS and follows through with notification of person.
Generates reports designed to track images from acquisition to PACS and interacts with managers in tracking these images.
Resolves broken, combined and misidentified studies. Transmits electronic images as needed.
Processes requests for image release and follows retrieval procedures.
Scan and fax documents as required.
Process incoming and outgoing mail.
Manages critical results communication for Radiologists.
Troubleshoots technology issues and provides first line support and/or dispatches specialists to resolve Radiology IT issues.
Appropriately documents HIPAA compliance.
Ensures necessary images are available for radiologist, surgeons and physician’s patients either via the web product for PACS, hard copy film, powershare, CD/DVD, or other established means.
Updates patient demographics, merge patients, merge images to studies, and updates order information when defined as part of established procedures or import/export of images data.
Performs other tasks related to the operation and monitoring of radiology clinical and administrative information systems.
Provide timely update of outside prior imaging request for radiologist and technologist.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience:
3 - 5 years Breast Health Support or Imaging experience required.
Familiarity/experience with the following IT systems: Philips iSite, Philips Intellispace(or other PACS systems), PowerScribe (or similar speech recognition medical dictation systems), Epic Radiant (or similar Radiology Information System product), Epic Hyperspace (or similar EMR product) preferred.
Licensure/Certifications/Registrations Required: None required.

Organizes daily workflow of images and assists hospital staff in the execution of their duties by acting as a resource person for timely, effective use of services, both in electronic and manual modalities.
Exhibit a working knowledge of advanced imaging applications.
Experience working with a PACS system.
Demonstrated knowledge of DICOM and application interface interaction with enterprise systems.
Ability to effectively present technical and service related information and respond to questions in one-on-one and group situations.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the job as outlined in the position description.
Requires a high level of organizational skills for sorting/filing duties.
Strong interpersonal, analytical and multi-tasking skills.
Ability to work independently; strong written and verbal skills.
Working knowledge of HIPAA regulations.
