Job Summary:   To perform a variety of technical, clerical, and related duties in connection with the activities of the hospital pharmacy; utilizes automation to credit or charge medications to patient accounts;   fill requisitions and deliver drugs to nursing units; assist in checking, ordering, and storing floor stock items; and dispense medications under direct supervision of a pharmacist. Qualifications:   Completion of 12th grade (high school or equiv);    Six months prior pharmacy work experience preferred;   Some ability   to perform accurate calculations and reports.   Some typing skills; Annual Registration with the NC State Board of Pharmacy is required. .   A new Pharmacy Technician hired but not already registered with the NC Board has 30 days from hire date to comply. Apply Job Type Full-time Description The purpose of the Medication Reconciliation Technician is to review, clarify, document and verify with the patient when possible, their Prior to Admission (PTA) medications. This will be done within 24 hours of admission to the hospital. Utilize the patient’s pharmacy, family, caregiver or prior office records to further investigate and verify the patient’s medication history. Confirm medications that need to be added or removed from the medication list. Once the medication list is completed, the Attending Physician will be notified that the medication list is current and verified and alert them of any changes, discrepancies or medications needing to be added or removed.
