Job Summary: To perform a variety of technical, clerical, and customer centric duties in connection with the activities of the retail pharmacy; utilizes automation; data enters prescriptions and adjudicate prescription claims to the insurance company; fill prescriptions and prepare them for customer pickup or delivery; assist in checking, ordering, and storing and stocking prescription and over-the-counter items; collect payment at the register and dispense medications under direct supervision of a pharmacist.
Qualifications: Completion of 12th grade (high school or equivalent); Six months prior retail pharmacy work experience preferred; Some ability to perform accurate calculations and reports. Some typing skills; Annual Registration with the NC State Board of Pharmacy is required. A new Pharmacy Technician hired but not already registered with the NC Board has 30 days from hire date to comply.
