Job Description: The Mammography Technologist and Breast Sonographer is responsible for performing screening and diagnostic mammography exams, breast ultrasounds, and biopsies and procedures on patients using specialized equipment. This position works closely with radiologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate and high-quality imaging results. This is a "hybrid" role used in areas where both mammography and sonography are required to provide patient care and this role requires a strong understanding of imaging techniques in both mammography and ultrasound, excellent patient care skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. JOB SUMMARY: Coordinates and performs the diagnostic radiographic and computed tomography procedures on patients, according to provider/physician orders.  Performs proper x-ray exposure to aid in the diagnosis of fractures, diseases, and other injuries.  Performs CT examinations with knowledgeable operation of the scanner and scan protocols. The technologist must prepare and position patients for the x-ray or CT examination and take the appropriate images.  The technologist also must process imaging plates, inspect, maintain, and make minor repairs to the x-ray and CT equipment.   The RT works under the direct supervision of the radiology manager and the consulting radiologists from Billings Clinic and Virtual Radiology.
