JOB SUMMARY
Performs receptionist duties for a clinic, physician's office, or similar medical facility. Job Duties: Greets and registers patients or other visitors, informs staff of patients' arrival, and directs patients to appropriate department or examination room. Gathers and updates patient contact or other personal information. Collects and inputs patient insurance information and verifies active coverage or eligibility. Collects co-pays or other fees due to the facility. Answers and transfers phone calls, schedules appointments, arranges for referrals, or relays messages. May perform occasional clerical duties, such as data entry, filing, or photocopying; clerical duties may require experience with medical records or electronic health record systems.
