Qualifications
Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology required upon hire or Associate Degree preferred
One (1) year of Radiologic Technologist experience preferred
General Medical Radiologic Technologist (GMRT) license through either the Texas Department of Health (TDH) or Texas Medical Board (TMB) required upon hire and
American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification required upon hire and
Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly
- Communication skills
- Computer skills
- Venipuncture skills
What You Will Do
- Explains procedures to patient or guardian / family member if applicable prior to exam. Positions patient to correct anatomical area of interest. Performs complex procedures including age related criteria and developmental considerations. Assists radiologist with complex and invasive procedures using aseptic technique.
- Processes and manipulates images, analyzes image quality, troubleshoots, makes technique adjustments or repeat procedures as needed. Coordinates with Centralized Scheduling and other modalities.
- Prepares room for examination (i.e. suction, oxygen, supplies). Checks physician orders and exam requisitions using time-out procedures.
- Administers contrast media and other medications in accordance with medication administration guidelines. Processes patient information, displays proper phone etiquette and transports patients as needed. Communicates respectfully with co-workers and other departments. Adjusts technical factors. Operates, cares for and maintains equipment.
- Demonstrates the knowledge and understanding of quality control and regulatory standards.

Entity Highlights:
Texas Health Hospital Rockwall has served Rockwall, Kaufman, Hunt, and surrounding counties since 2007. Our 105-bed acute care hospital provides medical and surgical services to patients from Rockwall, Heath, Fate, Royse City, McLendon-Chisholm, eastern Dallas County, southern Collin County, and nearby communities.
Our hospital provides comprehensive medical and surgical services, including a Level II Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, labor and delivery suites, cardiac catheterization lab, interventional radiology suite, expanded surgery suites, and emergency and intensive care areas. More than 60 physicians practice at Texas Health Rockwall. Our campus also houses a Women's Imaging and Breast Center, bariatric clinic, ambulatory surgery center, and physician practices.
Texas Health Rockwall has earned a CMS Five-Star Rating for patient safety, satisfaction, and clinical outcomes. We also hold the ANCC Pathways to Excellence designation for nursing.

Located on 33 acres in Rockwall just south of interstate 30, Texas Health Rockwall offers 60 inpatient beds for acute medical and surgical needs. The hospital continues to grow and visiting campus today you will find a Women's Imaging and Breast Center, a bariatric clinic, an ambulatory surgery center and a variety of physician practices all dedicated to our evolving community health needs. You will see that our long awaited expansion is well underway! This expansion, focused on a healthy future in this high growth area of North Texas, will double the size of our hospital adding more patient beds, a Level 2 NICU, Cardiac Cath Lab and expanding other departments including Labor & Delivery, OR and the emergency room.
