Work Hours: PRN (As Needed) - Monday & Tuesday Availability Preferred.
Surgery Department Highlights:
· Self-Contained outpatient department providing pain management
· Endoscopy and Lithotripsy procedures
· Responsible for preparing patients, performing procedures and recovery

· High School Diploma or equivalent and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009, required or
· Other – Graduate of an accredited surgery technology program, vocational nurse program or graduate/completion of a military training program in surgical technology required,
· 1 year of current CST experience preferred.
· CST – Certified Surgical Technologist/ CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) upon hire required or
· CST – Certified Surgical Technologist CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) and was employed to practice surgical technology in a health care facility before September 1, 2009, upon hire required or
· LVN – Licensed Vocational Nurse upon hire required and
· BCLS – Basic Cardiac Life Support prior to providing independent patient care and maintained quarterly upon hire required
What You Will Do
· Preoperatively assists R.N. circulator in formulating a plan of care.
· Prepare and organize the operating room.
· Assists in providing peri-operative care for a patient population that includes infants, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics.
· Assists as needed in coordinating patient care peri-operatively.
· Assumes responsibility and accountability for behavior to maintain standards for professional nursing practice.
· Post-operatively follows proper procedures for the care of instruments, supplies, and equipment.
· Under supervision, assists RN circulators with post-operative duties.

The hospital continues to grow and visiting campus today you will find a Women's Imaging and Breast Center, a bariatric clinic, an ambulatory surgery center and a variety of physician practices all dedicated to our evolving community health needs. You will see that our long awaited expansion is well underway! This expansion, focused on a healthy future in this high growth area of North Texas, will double the size of our hospital adding more patient beds, a Level 2 NICU, Cardiac Cath Lab and expanding other departments including Labor & Delivery, OR and the emergency room.
