Registered Nurse Neuro Trauma

Job Description

Intermountain Health seeks a Registered Nurse Neuro Trauma for night shift to deliver compassionate, evidence-based care to complex neuro trauma patients. In this on-site role, you'll perform detailed neurologic assessments, monitor changes, administer medications and treatments, and respond rapidly to emergencies. You'll collaborate closely with physicians and the care team, educate patients and families, and document thoroughly in the EMR. Responsibilities

  • Provide direct bedside nursing care to neuro trauma patients on night shift
  • Conduct ongoing patient assessments, monitoring neurologic status and vital signs
  • Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per provider orders and protocols
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and interdisciplinary team on care plans
  • Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions
  • Document assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the EMRMaintain safety protocols, including fall prevention and infection control
  • Respond to emergencies and rapidly changing patient conditions
  • Precept and support new nurses and assistive personnel on the unit
  • Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
