Surgical Technologist Certified

SSM Health seeks a Certified Surgical Technologist to support surgeons and nurses in delivering safe, high-quality care. Responsibilities include preparing operating rooms, selecting and sterilizing instruments, maintaining aseptic technique, and anticipating surgeon needs during procedures. The technologist will verify patient and procedure details, manage surgical supplies, and assist with specimen handling and counts. You will collaborate closely with the perioperative team, follow Catholic, mission-driven standards of compassionate care, and participate in ongoing training to enhance skills and advance your career.

Responsibilities

• Prepare operating rooms, equipment, and instruments for surgery
• Maintain strict aseptic technique and infection control standards
• Anticipate surgeon and nurse needs during procedures
• Perform accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts
• Handle and label specimens according to policy
• Assist with patient positioning and OR room turnover
• Monitor and maintain surgical supplies and equipment
• Document care and activities in electronic medical records
• Collaborate with perioperative team to ensure patient safety
• Participate in ongoing education and skills development
