Mission Health in Asheville, NC is seeking a CT Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will perform high-quality CT imaging procedures, ensure patient safety, and collaborate with physicians and nursing staff to support accurate diagnoses and treatment plans. You will prepare and position patients, operate and maintain imaging equipment, and follow all regulatory and quality standards. Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality CT and other assigned imaging examinations according to physician orders and department protocols
- Verify patient identity, review orders, obtain informed consent when required, and explain procedures to reduce anxiety and ensure cooperation
- Position patients accurately, select appropriate technical factors, and utilize radiation safety practices consistent with ALARA principles
- Start and manage IV lines, administer contrast agents per protocol, and monitor patients for adverse reactions, escalating concerns as needed
- Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and completeness, performing repeat images when appropriate to meet clinical standards
- Document all procedures accurately in the electronic medical record and imaging systems (PACS/RIS) in a timely manner
- Collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and other care team members to prioritize exams and support optimal patient outcomes
- Maintain a safe, clean, and well-organized imaging environment that complies with regulatory and infection-prevention standards
- Assist with training, mentoring, and supporting new technologists, students, or cross-training staff in CT and other modalities
- Participate in on-call, weekend, and holiday rotations as needed to support 24/7 patient care
- Engage in continuing education to maintain certifications, stay current with imaging best practices, and support professional growth
