Memorial Health, a leading healthcare provider in Savannah, GA, is seeking a Multi Modality Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services department. In this role, you will perform diagnostic imaging procedures across multiple modalities, ensuring high-quality images and patient safety. Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality diagnostic imaging exams across multiple modalities (such as general radiography, CT, MRI, or other assigned services) in accordance with Memorial Health protocols and physician orders.
- Verify patient identification, review medical history, and assess clinical information to ensure appropriate imaging and safe exam selection for each patient.
- Position patients accurately and comfortably, using immobilization devices as needed to obtain optimal images while maintaining patient dignity and safety.
- Apply radiation safety principles and infection control standards at all times, protecting patients, staff, and self in compliance with regulatory guidelines and Memorial Health policies.
- Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot imaging equipment and related systems, promptly reporting malfunctions or safety concerns to appropriate personnel.
- Administer oral and IV contrast agents as credentialed and monitor patients for adverse reactions, escalating care when necessary.
- Review images for diagnostic quality and completeness, performing additional views or sequences as needed to support accurate interpretation by radiologists and providers.
- Document procedures, patient information, and exam details accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR), PACS, and other clinical systems.
- Collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and other members of the healthcare team to prioritize exams, clarify exam requirements, and support coordinated, patient-centered care.
- Educate patients and families about procedures, expected sensations, post-exam instructions, and safety considerations, responding to questions with empathy and clarity.
- Support on-call, weekend, and holiday coverage as assigned to ensure continuous access to imaging services for the community.
- Participate in quality assurance activities, protocol optimization, and continuous improvement initiatives that align with Memorial Health's commitment to clinical excellence.
- Precept, mentor, or support training of new technologists, students, and cross-training staff, contributing to a collaborative learning culture.
- Maintain required licensure, certifications, and continuing education, staying current with advances in imaging technology and best practices.
