Methodist Hospital, part of SA Health, is seeking an experienced Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge RN) for our Med Surg/ICU unit within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. Responsibilities
- Coordinate and oversee daily operations of the Med Surg and ICU units during assigned shifts
- Assign and adjust nursing staff based on patient acuity, census, and skill mix
- Provide direct patient care, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing interventions
- Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing staff, techs, and ancillary team members
- Collaborate with physicians, APPs, and interdisciplinary team members to develop and execute patient care plans
- Facilitate safe admissions, transfers, and discharges between Med Surg, ICU, and other units
- Monitor patient status and respond promptly to changes in condition, emergencies, and rapid responses
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, evidence-based protocols, and regulatory standards
- Support and participate in quality improvement, patient safety, and performance initiatives

- Provide clear communication and handoffs between shifts to maintain continuity of care
- Assist with staff education, competency validation, and orientation of new team members
Required Skills
- Acute care nursing in Med Surg and/or ICUPatient assessment and critical thinking
