Responsibilities
- Perform complete pulmonary function tests including spirometry, lung volumes, and DLCO following established protocols.
- Prepare and educate patients for testing, ensuring comfort, safety, and understanding of procedures.
- Calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot pulmonary function equipment to maintain accurate and reliable results.
- Accurately document test data and patient information in the electronic medical record and reporting systems.
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and nurses to support diagnosis and treatment planning.
- Maintain strict infection control, quality assurance, and safety standards in the testing environment.
- Assist with training of new staff or students and participate in ongoing competency and education programs.
