Gifted Healthcare is seeking a Travel MedSurg RN for an acute care facility in Newton, Iowa. In this role, you will provide comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care to a diverse adult patient population, performing assessments, managing IVs and medications, and coordinating evidence-based care plans. You will collaborate closely with an interdisciplinary team, document accurately in the EHR, and support safe discharges through patient and family education. Responsibilities
- Deliver comprehensive medical-surgical nursing care to adult patients in an acute care setting.
- Perform assessments, administer medications, and manage IVs per facility protocols.
- Develop, implement, and update individualized patient care plans.
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
- Monitor patient status, recognize changes, and respond rapidly to emergencies.
- Document all care, assessments, and interventions accurately in the EHR.
- Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and regulatory standards at all times.
- Float within compatible units as needed and adapt quickly to new environments.
