Encompass Health seeks a Director Therapy Operations to lead inpatient rehabilitation therapy services, ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care. This role oversees PT, OT, SLP, and related disciplines, managing staffing, budgeting, scheduling, and performance metrics. The director drives clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement while fostering a collaborative, team-oriented culture. Partnering with medical and nursing leadership, the role optimizes patient outcomes, supports evidence-based practice, mentors clinicians, and advances professional growth, specialty programs, and operational efficiency across the therapy department.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all inpatient therapy operations (PT, OT, SLP and related services)
- Oversee staffing, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation for therapy services
- Ensure regulatory and accreditation compliance, including Joint Commission and CMS standards
- Drive clinical quality, evidence-based practice, and patient outcome improvements
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing, and case management on interdisciplinary care planning
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics, productivity, and patient satisfaction data
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and best practices for therapy operations
- Recruit, mentor, and develop therapy leaders and clinical staff
- Support specialty rehabilitation programs and service line growth
- Promote a patient-centered, team-oriented culture aligned with organizational values
