Registered Nurse Program Coordinator

Job Description

Intermountain Health seeks a Registered Nurse Program Coordinator - Ortho Surgery to lead coordinated, patient-centered care for orthopedic surgical patients. In this role, you'll partner with surgeons and an interdisciplinary team to manage pre- and post-operative pathways, optimize clinical quality, and guide patients and families through the surgical journey. You will develop and refine evidence-based protocols, track outcomes, support performance improvement initiatives, and serve as a clinical resource. Responsibilities

  • Coordinate orthopedic surgery patient care across the continuum, from pre-op through post-op follow-up
  • Develop, implement, and refine evidence-based ortho surgery care pathways and protocols
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, therapists, and other team members to optimize outcomes
  • Provide patient and family education on procedures, recovery expectations, and self-care
  • Monitor quality, safety, and clinical outcomes; support performance improvement initiatives
  • Use EHR and data tools to track volumes, throughput, and key program metrics
  • Serve as a clinical resource and mentor for nursing and support staff
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and infection prevention standards
  • Support scheduling, patient flow, and coordination of multidisciplinary visits
  • Participate in staff training, community outreach, and program development projects
