Interventional Radiology Technologist BJC HealthCare in St. Louis seeks an Interventional Radiology Technologist to support minimally invasive image-guided procedures. Responsibilities include patient preparation, operating fluoroscopy and other imaging equipment, assisting interventional radiologists during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, monitoring patient status, maintaining radiation safety standards, and ensuring accurate documentation. The technologist will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, support quality and safety initiatives, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts in a fast-paced, compassionate, and innovation driven environment focused on excellent patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for interventional radiology procedures, verifying identity and consent
- Operate fluoroscopy and other imaging equipment during image-guided procedures
- Assist interventional radiologists with sterile technique, devices, and contrast administration
- Monitor patient condition and respond to changes during and after procedures
- Apply and monitor radiation safety practices for patients, self, and staff
- Maintain and troubleshoot interventional radiology equipment and imaging systems
- Document procedures, imaging data, and supplies accurately in the EMRCoordinate with nursing, anesthesia, and other team members for efficient workflow
- Maintain procedure rooms, stock supplies, and ensure infection control compliance
- Participate in quality improvement, safety initiatives, and continuing education
