Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a Senior Medical Technologist to support our commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care. In this role, you will perform and oversee complex clinical laboratory testing, validate and interpret results, and ensure accuracy and timely reporting for providers and care teams. You will serve as a technical resource, mentor junior staff, and help maintain compliance with CLIA, CAP, and safety standards. Responsibilities
- Perform and oversee complex clinical laboratory testing across multiple disciplines
- Validate, analyze, and interpret test results to support accurate diagnosis and treatment
- Calibrate, operate, and troubleshoot laboratory instruments and analyzers
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards (CLIA, CAP, OSHA)
- Train, mentor, and provide technical guidance to junior technologists and lab staff
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and care teams to address urgent testing needs
- Maintain accurate documentation, QC logs, and participate in process improvement
- Support implementation of new assays, technologies, and workflow enhancements
Required Skills
- Clinical laboratory testing (chemistry, hematology, microbiology, or transfusion services)
- Quality control and quality assurance procedures
- Operation and troubleshooting of automated lab analyzers
- Laboratory Information Systems (LIS) proficiency
