Responsibilities
- Perform and validate complex clinical laboratory tests across multiple disciplines to support accurate diagnosis and treatment
- Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot advanced laboratory instruments, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards
- Review, interpret, and verify test results, collaborating with physicians and care teams to address critical findings
- Serve as a technical resource and mentor for junior technologists, supporting training, competency, and best practices
- Maintain accurate documentation, participate in inspections, and support regulatory and accreditation compliance
Required Skills
- Clinical laboratory testing (chemistry, hematology, microbiology, immunology, transfusion services)
- Operation and troubleshooting of automated analyzers and lab instrumentation
- Quality control, quality assurance, and proficiency testing
- Specimen handling, processing, and workflow management
- Regulatory compliance (CLIA, CAP, Joint Commission, OSHA)
- Laboratory information systems (LIS) and electronic medical records (EMR)
- Data analysis, result interpretation, and critical value management
- Safety procedures and infection control in laboratory settings
