Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic radiologic exams according to physician orders and departmental protocols
- Position patients safely and accurately to obtain high-quality diagnostic images
- Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot radiologic equipment and imaging systems
- Apply and monitor radiation safety and ALARA principles for patients and staff
- Verify patient identity, explain procedures, and obtain necessary histories or consents
- Maintain accurate imaging records and documentation in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and care teams to support timely diagnosis and treatment
- Prepare exam rooms, manage supplies, and assist with workflow efficiency and patient throughput
- Follow infection control, regulatory, and quality assurance standards
- Participate in continuing education and competency validation to maintain licensure and certifications
