Responsibilities
- Perform routine and limited emergency diagnostic X-ray examinations for patients of all ages in an urgent care setting.
- Prepare and position patients safely and accurately for imaging procedures, explaining exams and providing reassurance throughout.
- Operate digital radiography equipment and related imaging systems, ensuring production of high-quality, diagnostic images.
- Apply radiation protection standards and ALARA principles for patients, self, and coworkers at all times.
- Upload and manage images within PACS/RIS and document procedures accurately in the electronic medical record.
- Coordinate with urgent care providers and nurses to prioritize imaging studies based on clinical urgency and patient condition.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment, following infection prevention and control protocols.
- Perform basic quality control checks and promptly report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
- Demonstrate culturally sensitive, inclusive, and compassionate patient care for individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Participate in ongoing education, competency assessments, and process improvement efforts within the department.
