Job Description
Adventist Health is seeking a Certified Surgical Technician for our CVOR team. In this role, you will support complex cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries by preparing the OR, organizing sterile instruments, and anticipating surgeon needs. You will scrub in for procedures, ensure strict aseptic technique, manage surgical supplies and equipment, and assist with specimen handling and counts. Collaborating closely with surgeons, RNs, and anesthesia staff, you'll help deliver safe, efficient care in a faith-based, mission-driven environment that values compassion, teamwork, and professional growth.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain sterile field and instruments for CVOR procedures
- Scrub in and assist surgeons during cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries
- Ensure strict adherence to aseptic and infection control standards
- Perform instrument, sponge, and sharps counts with circulating nurse
- Operate, troubleshoot, and care for CVOR-specific equipment and devices
- Anticipate surgeon and team needs throughout procedures
- Assist with patient positioning, draping, and room turnover
- Handle and label specimens accurately per protocol
- Maintain inventory of surgical supplies and request replenishment as needed
- Collaborate with surgeons, RNs, anesthesia, and support staff to ensure safe, efficient care
