The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) seeks a Senior Medical Technologist to support our mission of excellence in patient care, education, and research. In this on-site role, you will perform and validate complex diagnostic tests, oversee daily lab operations, and ensure strict adherence to CAP/CLIA standards. Responsibilities
- Perform complex diagnostic laboratory testing and ensure accurate, timely results to support patient care and medical education
- Oversee daily lab operations, including quality control, calibration, and maintenance of advanced laboratory instruments
- Review and validate test data, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to maintain regulatory compliance
- Train, mentor, and guide technologists, students, and residents in laboratory procedures and best practices
- Collaborate with clinicians, researchers, and educators to support clinical trials, academic programs, and process improvements
- Maintain documentation in accordance with CAP, CLIA, and institutional policies and participate in inspections and audits
