Registered Nurse

Job Description

Intermountain Health seeks a Registered Nurse for our Mixed Acuity Surgical unit. In this role, you will provide evidence-based bedside care to pre- and post-operative patients with varying acuity, including complex surgical cases. Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, care planning, medication administration, patient and family education, and coordination with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary teams. You'll use EMR systems, follow safety and infection-control standards, and support quality improvement. Responsibilities

  • Provide direct pre- and post-operative nursing care to mixed-acuity surgical patients
  • Perform patient assessments, develop and update individualized care plans
  • Administer medications, treatments, and monitor patient responses
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and interdisciplinary team members
  • Educate patients and families on procedures, recovery, and discharge plans
  • Document care accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Maintain infection control and patient safety standards
  • Respond to changes in patient condition and escalate appropriately
  • Participate in quality improvement and evidence-based practice initiatives
  • Precept or support newer nurses and contribute to a team-based culture
