Behavioral Health Occupational Therapist

Intermountain Health is seeking a Behavioral Health Occupational Therapist to join our mission-driven care team in Salt Lake City. In this role, you will provide comprehensive evaluations, develop individualized and group treatment plans, and deliver evidence-based interventions to support patients with mental health and co-occurring conditions. You will collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, and social workers in a patient-centered, team-based environment. Responsibilities include functional assessments, life-skills training, sensory modulation, safety and discharge planning, and clear documentation in the EHR. Responsibilities

• Provide occupational therapy evaluations and individualized treatment plans for behavioral health patients across inpatient and outpatient settings
• Use evidence-based interventions to improve daily functioning, coping skills, and independence for patients with mental health and co-occurring conditions
• Collaborate closely with psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other care team members to coordinate integrated treatment plans
• Develop group and individual therapy sessions focused on life skills, sensory modulation, and self-management strategies
• Educate patients and families on treatment goals, home programs, and community resources to support ongoing recovery
• Document assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, and outcomes in the electronic health record in a timely and accurate manner
• Participate in interdisciplinary case conferences, quality improvement initiatives, and clinical best-practice development
• Provide input on discharge planning, safety considerations, and appropriate follow-up services
• Mentor or precept students and newer clinicians as appropriate and support continuous learning within the team
