Radiology Technologist

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and specialized diagnostic radiographic exams according to provider orders and imaging protocols
  • Prepare, position, and instruct patients to obtain optimal images while ensuring comfort and safety
  • Operate radiologic equipment and related technology, including PACS and RIS, to capture, review, and transmit images
  • Adhere to radiation safety standards and ALARA principles, using appropriate shielding and exposure techniques
  • Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and imaging logs in the electronic health record and imaging systems
  • Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to prioritize and coordinate imaging services
  • Assist with urgent and emergent imaging needs, supporting efficient patient throughput in the department
  • Perform routine equipment checks, basic troubleshooting, and coordinate service or repairs as needed
  • Monitor and maintain exam rooms, supplies, and infection control standards to meet regulatory and organizational requirements
  • Participate in ongoing education, competencies, and quality improvement initiatives within the radiology department
