The University of Vermont Health Network seeks a CT/Rad Tech to perform high-quality CT and general radiology exams in an academic, patient-centered environment. In this role, you will operate advanced imaging equipment, ensure accurate positioning and image quality, follow radiation safety and infection control standards, and provide clear, compassionate communication to patients and families. You'll collaborate closely with radiologists and interdisciplinary teams, support evidence-based care and research, and participate in ongoing education and quality improvement across the Network.
Responsibilities
- Perform CT and general radiologic imaging exams following physician orders and department protocols
- Ensure patient safety, comfort, and informed consent, including screening for contraindications
- Operate and troubleshoot CT and radiography equipment, ensuring high-quality diagnostic images
- Accurately position patients and adjust technical factors to optimize image quality and minimize dose
- Verify patient identity and exam details; document procedures and maintain accurate records in the EMR/RISCollaborate with radiologists, nurses, and care teams to support timely diagnosis and treatment
- Follow infection prevention, radiation safety, and regulatory standards at all times
- Assist with contrast administration, monitor patients, and respond appropriately to adverse reactions
- Provide clear explanations and reassurance to patients and families from diverse backgrounds
- Participate in ongoing education, quality improvement, and equipment/technology updates
