Responsibilities
- Perform and analyze routine and complex laboratory tests in hematology, chemistry, microbiology, and blood bank to support diagnosis and treatment
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments, ensuring quality control and accurate results
- Collect, prepare, and process patient specimens following safety and infection control protocols
- Validate, interpret, and document test results in the LIS, promptly reporting critical values to providers
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and lab staff to support timely, patient-centered care
- Follow CLIA, CAP, and hospital policies to maintain regulatory compliance and high lab standards
- Participate in process improvement, troubleshooting, and implementation of new methods or equipment
- Provide guidance and mentorship to new staff and students as needed
