DHA - Valley Regional Hospital seeks a Mammography/X-Ray Technologist to provide high-quality breast imaging and general radiographic exams for our community-focused acute care hospital. In this role, you will perform screening and diagnostic mammograms and routine X-rays, ensure optimal image quality, follow strict radiation safety and infection control standards, and support a compassionate, patient-first experience. You will collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and providers, document exams accurately in PACS/EMR, and contribute to continuous quality improvement in a supportive, team-oriented environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammograms and general X-ray examinations
- Position patients safely and comfortably while following ALARA radiation safety principles
- Operate, troubleshoot, and maintain mammography and radiography equipment and PACS/RIS systems
- Verify patient identity, obtain histories, and explain procedures to reduce anxiety and improve cooperation
- Evaluate images for diagnostic quality and repeat studies when necessary within safety guidelines
- Document procedures accurately in EMR and ensure proper labeling, routing, and storage of images
- Collaborate with radiologists, technologists, nurses, and providers to coordinate timely patient care
- Adhere to infection prevention, safety, and regulatory standards including ACR, MQSA, and state requirements
- Participate in quality assurance, equipment checks, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Support the hospital's compassionate, community-focused culture through respectful, patient-first care
