The University of Vermont Health Network seeks a Mammography Technologist to deliver high-quality screening and diagnostic breast imaging in a collaborative, academic healthcare setting. In this role, you will perform digital mammography exams, ensure patient safety and comfort, maintain strict regulatory and quality standards, and work closely with radiologists and multidisciplinary teams. You'll support evidence-based, patient-centered care while advancing your skills with modern imaging technology and contributing to community health across Vermont and northern New York.
Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality screening and diagnostic mammography exams following ACR and FDA/MQSA standards
- Ensure accurate patient identification, history review, and education on procedures
- Position patients safely and effectively for optimal breast imaging and patient comfort
- Maintain equipment, perform basic QA checks, and report service issues promptly
- Document exams in EHR/PACS and collaborate with radiologists and care team members
- Support a patient-centered, inclusive environment for diverse populations
- Follow radiation safety, infection control, and regulatory compliance requirements
- Participate in continuing education, competency assessments, and departmental initiatives
