Piedmont Healthcare is seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our Healthcare & Medical Services team. In this role, you will perform high-quality MRI exams, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and accurate imaging for diagnosis and treatment. You will operate advanced MRI equipment, follow established protocols, and collaborate closely with radiologists, nurses, and referring providers. Responsibilities
- Perform high-quality MRI scans according to established protocols and physician orders
- Verify patient identity, obtain medical history, and screen for MRI safety contraindications
- Position patients correctly and ensure comfort, privacy, and compassionate care throughout the exam
- Operate and troubleshoot MRI scanners, coils, and related imaging equipment
- Monitor image quality and adjust technical factors to obtain optimal diagnostic images
- Collaborate with radiologists and providers to clarify exam requirements and communicate critical findings per protocol
- Maintain accurate patient records, documentation, and exam data in the RIS/PACS and EMR systems
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and regulatory standards, including MRI safety zones and contrast policies
- Assist with contrast administration per protocol and monitor patients for adverse reactions
- Participate in continuing education, quality improvement initiatives, and departmental meetings
