Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas is one of North Texas's most established hospitals. Texas Health Dallas is a Joint Commission certified Comprehensive Stroke Center, Level I Trauma Center, and Comprehensive Heart Attack Center. The Risk Management Manager has the following duties and responsibilities:
Manages the day to day operations of hospital risk management and patient advocacy.
Effectively manages the reporting system with risk staff.
Provides consultation services to medical staff, department managers, and organization personnel through individual meetings and committee participation with respect to patient safety and risk management. Provides education sessions as needed.
Manages and mentors subordinate personnel in support of the hospital and department goals to foster their growth and development.
Oversees the processes for analysis, investigation, representation and negotiation of complaints and events.
Coordinates and collaborates with the Quality manager to facilitates the patient safety activities throughout the organization and in key hospital committees such as the Quality Improvement Patient Safety Council. Directs the preparation of reports and case summaries.
Communicate and collaborate with the Manager of Quality in the areas of data and information management, performance improvement, patient safety, and risk management.
Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to know the latest trends and issues pertaining to patient safety and risk management.

Education
Bachelor's Degree Nursing or other health related field Required
Experience
5 Years healthcare experience Required
and
2 Years risk management, patient safety and/or quality Required
Progressive Management Experience Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
Other appropriate clinical license for degree Upon Hire Required
And
CPHRM - Certified Professional in Healthcare Risk Management with in 2 Years of hire Required
Or
CPHQ - Certified Professional in Healthcare Quality with in 2 Years of hire Required
Skills
Must be able to demonstrate ability to analyze and manage information. Excellent verbal &
writing skills with the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of professional and nonprofessional
customers. Requires self directed, goal oriented person. Computer skills with MS
Office.

You will see that our long awaited expansion is well underway! This expansion, focused on a healthy future in this high growth area of North Texas, will double the size of our hospital adding more patient beds, a Level 2 NICU, Cardiac Cath Lab and expanding other departments including Labor & Delivery, OR and the emergency room.
