• Work hours: Full Time; 40 Hours; Days; Monday-Friday:
Department Highlights:
· The Scheduling Specialist interacts in a professional, respectful manner with internal and external customers, provides excellent customer service to patients and visitors.
· Team-oriented work environment with expanded resources from other Patient Access areas.
· Cross-training opportunities within different areas of Patient Access
What You Will Do:
Duties to include, but not limited to:
Schedules testing and/or procedures for multiple departments in an accurate and timely manner ensuring maximum productivity and expedient patient flow.
Performs Necessary checks of medical necessity for patients with Medicare as a primary payor to ensure documentation is in compliance with applicable guidelines.
Effectively communicates with patients, physician office scheduling, surgery scheduling, and/or other necessary staff as needed to reduce appointment time/date errors.
Stays abreast of and complies with applicable regulations, entity and/or system policies and procedures. Maintains customer service and/or productivity guidelines set forth by applicable leadership.
Participates in special projects or completes other duties as assigned.
Education
H.S. Diploma or Equivalent Req
Experience
1 Year Healthcare experience including customer relations Required
2 Years Professional office/healthcare experience Preferred
1 Year Medical terminology or certification Preferred
6 Months Call center experience Preferred
Bilingual Preferred
Licenses and Certifications
CHAA - Certified Healthcare Access Associate Upon Hire Pref
Skills.
Proficient computer skills, medical terminology, Epic, Microsoft Office and assorted software programs.
Scheduling and Insurance Verification that supports multiple facilities

The hospital continues to grow and visiting campus today you will find a Women's Imaging and Breast Center, a bariatric clinic, an ambulatory surgery center and a variety of physician practices all dedicated to our evolving community health needs. You will see that our long awaited expansion is well underway! This expansion, focused on a healthy future in this high growth area of North Texas, will double the size of our hospital adding more patient beds, a Level 2 NICU, Cardiac Cath Lab and expanding other departments including Labor & Delivery, OR and the emergency room.
