Provides patient care activities under the direction of Registered Nurse and/or Licensed Practical Nurse.
JOB SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
Qualifications
High school graduate or GED preferred.
Completion of the Certified Nursing Assistant program OR be listed as having passed CNA competency testing on the Iowa Direct Care Worker registry. May be certified as a medic or Combat Lifesaver (through military duty) or have EMS certification as a base provider.
Current American Heart Association (AHA) Heart Code BLS required. New employees certify within three (3) months after hire date.
Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
High degree of empathetic listening, tact and kindness toward others.
Effective verbal and nonverbal communication skills required.
Must work effectively as a member of a team.
Previous acute or long-term care experience preferred.
Technical and critical thinking skills required to perform duties.
Basic computer knowledge.
