Adelphi is seeking a licensed physician to serve as Medical Director for a full-time, short-term locum assignment in Cameron County, Texas. The ideal candidate will provide medical leadership and clinical oversight for individuals with complex medical, psychiatric, and behavioral health needs.

Requirements
• Medical Doctor (MD) licensed by the State of Texas
• Active DEA registration
• Active National Provider Identifier (NPI)
• Ability to enroll as a Medicaid and Medicare Part B provider
• Prior medical director, supervisory, or clinical leadership experience preferred
• Experience managing complex medical, psychiatric, and/or behavioral health needs preferred
• Experience working with individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities preferred
• Ability to meet all agency and facility requirements prior to start

Responsibilities
• Direct medical services across primary care, psychiatric, dental, pharmaceutical, and lab functions.
• Oversee diagnosis and treatment for individuals with complex medical and behavioral needs.
• Maintain responsibility for overall medical care and clinical service quality.
• Serve as primary care physician for an assigned caseload.
• Supervise physicians, APRNs, PAs, pharmacists, dentists, psychiatrists, and contracted staff.
• Support clinical staff with complex cases and treatment planning.
• Participate in interdisciplinary meetings, committees, conferences, and work groups.
• Develop and share the on-call duty schedule.
• Ensure compliance with applicable policies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate care for employees injured while on duty.
• Communicate with internal and external stakeholders as needed.
• Support emergency response and continuity operations as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
