Job Description Summary:

To provide efficient, effective, clerical duties and practice support through a variety of general office duties including answering phones, data entry, inventory control, registration and customer service. Entering accurate and up-to-date billing information (address, insurance coverage, etc.) into the patient accounting system. Assist clinical staff in maintaining accurate medical records.

We’re Looking For:

  • High school diploma or equivalent years of registration, billing, or collection experience.
  • Knowledge of third-party payors
  • Strong medical terminology/background preferred

What You’ll Do:

Schedule: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday: 7:30a – 5p

Occasional Wednesdays on holidays weeks.

As a Patient Access Representative (PAR), you’ll play a vital role in the care team – supporting patients, technologists, nursing staff and physicians and helping ensure a seamless, compassionate experience every day.  

As a key member of the ambulatory care team, you will: 

  • Patient Services: Provides efficient, high-quality service to patients by verifying insurance information, ID, and insurance card. Report any issues through established channels and respond to the patients’ needs while waiting for procedures.
  • Clerical Duties: Assures that required reports and completed and distributed in a timely manner. Responds and Develops skills, knowledge and professionalism by attending in services, Department/Hospital committee meetings and Continuing Education development programs.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:  

  • Ability to read, enter and retrieve information from the computer terminal.
  • Must be able to perform physical tasks such as hearing the client, verbalizing instructions and possessing manual dexterity for data entry.
  • Ability to function in a high volume, multiple-task environment, and in a crowded or closely shared workspace. 
  • Exposure to ill patients. 
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions with demanding customers.
  • Must lift to 20 pounds without help. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case-by-case basis.
