Job Description

Supervisory:
  • 46 FTEs report to this manager.
  • Coordinates and provides orientation for direct reports
  • Assign committee responsibilities
  • Direct and maintain clinical operation of all Outpatient Rehab programs and services
  • Provides disciplinary action when appropriate
Financial Reporting
  • Monitors and knowledgeable of financial reports
  • Assists with financial analysis as needed
  • Establishes and monitors clinical productivity and productivity rates to ensure efficiency and staffing volumes by area
  • Works as a liaison between patients and billing for resolution of account issues
Personnel
  • Interviews potential employees
  • Assessment of clinical staff competency
  • Interviews potential employees
  • Problem-solving related to personnel issues
Clinical
  • Serves on clinical performance improvement committees
  • Provides patient care as needed and available
  • Identifies/implements performance improvement projects
Coordination
  • Management/coordination of patient care
  • Preparation of annual budgets in outpatient rehab services , pediatrics and sports medicine program
  • Functions within the approved budget
  • Development/implementation of dept. policies and procedures
  • Work with other managers, clinical therapy coordinators, and Human Resources to develop and implement recruitment plans and strategies
Planning
  • Plans and coordinates outpatient rehab services programs which will assure the satisfactory attainment of the goals and mission of NMMC
  • Program development

Evaluation
  • Evaluation and education on clinical documentation requirements
  • Compliance with policies and procedures

Know How Job Knowledge: Specify required education, licensure/certification, prior experience, skill, behavior, equipment operation, type and duration of on-the-job training, patient population to be served, etc.
  • At a minimum, must have a Bachelor’s Degree in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech-language pathology
  • Master’s Degree or Doctorate Degree is preferred.
  • Three to five years of management experience is preferred

  • The incumbent will have frequent contact with patients, family members, caregivers, and visitors in person, by phone, and by mail.
