Special Procedures Technologist

Job Description

Patient Advocate:

  • Protects patient from potential injury; selects operative setups and supplies to maintain sterile technique during all procedures
    Customer Service:
  • Monitors customer service through assessment and evaluation. Recommends and implements action for improving.
    Management of Team:
  • Coaches and assists team members in preparation, use and maintenance of supplies and equipment. Assists in the training of all new employees.
    Performance competency:
  • Possesses a working knowledge of all equipment, contrast media, and inventory used during procedures. Maintains performance competency through attendance at required in-service/education program, annual review and maintains credit hours for continued certification.
    Goals and Objectives:
  • Assists the manager in identifying and accomplishing departmental goals and objectives.
    Cross training:
  • Possesses the willingness to expand knowledge.
    Technical Competency:
  • Renders highest technical skills in physiological recordings and possesses a complete knowledge of digital radiography imaging. Become competent with pacemaker programming, testing, and implantation.
    REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must hold current RT(R) or RN licensure
  • American Heart Association (AHA) CPR certification at HCP Level required
  • American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS certification required, or obtained in one year
  • Possesses knowledge of cardiac patients, defibrillators, and Code Blue
  • Competent in caring for pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
