Schedule: Full-Time, 40 hours per week
Monday–Friday with variable start times and call rotation

Pay Range: $21.30 – $31.64per hour

Shift Differentials:
Night: $2.25 | Evening: $1.65 | Weekend: $1.50

What You’ll Do

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will support surgical and clinical teams by ensuring instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, assembled, and ready for use.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Decontaminating, inspecting, assembling, packaging, and sterilizing surgical instruments and medical equipment
  • Operating autoclaves and washer sterilizers while maintaining required documentation and quality controls
  • Preparing and restocking case carts and procedural supplies
  • Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating supply orders to maintain continuity of care
  • Maintaining infection prevention standards and regulatory compliance
  • Responding to urgent and emergent supply needs
  • Collaborating with clinical teams to support efficient surgical operations
  • Participating in department training, meetings, and continuous improvement efforts

Requirements

On-the-job training or formal sterile processing / central service training within 30–90 days of hire
(Certification requirements may apply based on union or organizational guidelines.)

Work Environment

This role is performed in a hospital environment with exposure to standard healthcare conditions including cleaning agents, sterilization equipment, bodily fluids, and communicable diseases. Noise levels are typically moderate.

Physical Demands

Requires prolonged standing and frequent pushing, pulling, bending, and reaching. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and possess the manual dexterity and visual acuity needed to handle instruments and operate medical equipment.
