Night: $2.25 | Evening: $1.65 | Weekend: $1.50

As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will support surgical and clinical teams by ensuring instruments and equipment are properly cleaned, sterilized, assembled, and ready for use.

Requirements
On-the-job training or formal sterile processing / central service training within 30–90 days of hire
(Certification requirements may apply based on union or organizational guidelines.)
Work Environment
This role is performed in a hospital environment with exposure to standard healthcare conditions including cleaning agents, sterilization equipment, bodily fluids, and communicable diseases. Noise levels are typically moderate.
Physical Demands
Requires prolonged standing and frequent pushing, pulling, bending, and reaching. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and possess the manual dexterity and visual acuity needed to handle instruments and operate medical equipment. Island Hospital is 43 bed acute care hospital. Each patient room is single occupancy and all of the acute care rooms have a ceiling lift, and private bathroom with a shower. We have six Specialty Care Clinics and five Family Care Clinics providing specialty services that include: Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Sleep Wellness Center, Behavioral Health, Wound Care, and Sleep Wellness. Our inpatient and outpatient services include: Acute Care, Emergency Services, Birthing Center, Surgical Services, Diagnostic Imaging, Physical, Occupational & Speech Therapy. We also support our community by offering Community Education classes and various screenings.
