Job Summary: Provides leadership, manages, and coordinates delivery of patient care, quality and patient safety activities within oncology services. Oversees the oncology needs of groups of patients and their families by teaching and supervising RNs and CNAs provided evidence-based care. Monitors patient and health care outcomes and applies best practice nursing strategies for the benefit of patients and their families. Maintains clinical and professional competency as appropriate to the population of patients served, consistent with the corporate, division, and departmental mission statement and values.
Qualifications: Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license). OCN certification and/or Chemotherapy and Biotherapy course completion. 2 years of experience as a bedside nurse in oncology required, and at least 6 months of experience in a COC accredited cancer program. Thorough knowledge of specialty nursing principles, methods, and techniques. Able to deal tactfully with staff, patients, physicians, ancillary professionals, and families. Considerable ability to manage, coach, and provide a motivated environment.
