JOB SUMMARY
The CT Technologist at North Mississippi Health services is responsible for performing high quality diagnostic imaging procedures using computed tomography equipment to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of medical conditions. Technologists are also responsible for reviewing patient information, charts, physician orders, and previous films to plan and perform high quality CT exams. This role oversees safety compliance for patients, staff, and equipment, along with managing overtime and work schedules efficiently to control costs. The technologist must also stay updated on radiology protocols and possess a strong knowledge of radiographic anatomy and work effectively within a team.
JOB
FUNCTIONS
Must review patient information, chart, physician order, and previous films to ensure the best possible scan plan to answer clinical questions and provide Radiologist with quality CT imaging.
Perform high-quality CT scans for trauma, emergency, inpatient and outpatient cases.
Compliance with all patient, staff and equipment safety policies.
Document patient information, scan details, and contrast administration accurately in EMR/PACS.
Prepare and educate patients about the CT procedure, including contrast use and radiation safety.
Adjust scan parameters based on patient condition and clinical indication.
Administer IV contrast agents safely and monitor adverse reactions.
Provide care for patients across all acuity levels, including pediatric, geriatric, stroke, and trauma cases.
Practice ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principles to minimize radiation exposure.
Maintain readiness for high-volume, fast-paced trauma and stroke imaging scenarios.
Work closely with radiologists, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
Compliance with all patients, staff and equipment safety policies.
Troubleshoot CT equipment and report malfunctions promptly.
Organize workflow to prevent delays in patient care.
Compliance with annual review.
Compliance with IV and contrast injection guidelines.
Manage overtime; flex hours.
All other duties assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Associate's Degree Graduate of an AMA approved school of Radiologic Technology.. Required
Licenses and Certifications
ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. Registered by ARRT and licensed as required by the state in which the facility is located... . Required

Keep abreast of changes in Radiology by attending classes and continuing education provided.
Possess strong knowledge of radiographic anatomy.
Serves patient population categories of infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics.
