Job Summary:  The Practice Readiness for Educational Pathways (PREP) Program provides the Respiratory Therapy student with opportunities to gain valuable experience that can help bridge the gap between theory and practice. The goal of the PREP Program is to facilitate the assimilation of the individual into the healthcare environment and culture. The PREP experience serves as a preview of direct patient care.      The student will work under the supervision of a CaroMont Health employee, licensed in the role in which the student is currently enrolled. Manage protocols and administer prescribed doses of respiratory therapy inhaled drugs to inpatients and outpatients. Ability to perform arterial sticks for blood gas analysis and various bedside procedures to assess pulmonary status .

Ability to perform arterial sticks for blood gas analysis and various bedside procedures to assess pulmonary status.   Temporary assignment will be for 12 weeks with the requirement to work every other weekend and any holidays during the 12 week assignment (if assignment is during the Christmas holiday, will work either Eve or Day depending on staffing need). No requested time off allowed, must work all hours each of the 12 weeks.
