Unit Description: Cardiac and Vascular Care (CVC) is a 16-bed unit designated for cardiac and procedural patients requiring a brief hospitalization. Our Registered Nurses care for a variety of patients including those recovering from surgery, interventional radiology procedures, invasive cardiology procedures; including ST-elevation myocardial infarction, non ST-segment myocardial infarction patients, patients requiring percutaneous coronary interventions, and patients requiring antiarrhythmic medication initiation. The average RN to patient ratio is 1:4. The incumbent m ay be required to float on a rotational basis as needed and typically works 2 weekend shifts in a 4-week schedule block.
