The Registered Nurse for the Intensive Care Unit is responsible for the delivery of patient care through the nursing process of assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation. The Registered Nurse is accountable for the administration of, observation, charting and reporting effects of medications, intravenous procedures, and other therapeutic and diagnostic measures in a safe and accurate manner while operating within established policies, procedures and regulations. The Registered Nurse is an integral member of the patient care team and is expected to be a resource person regarding patient care, specialty area of nursing and development of other staff. Qualified candidates must have advanced nursing skills and knowledge, demonstrate the ability to think critically, identify emergency situations and be able to perform in a calm and professional manner.
