DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The Registered Cardiac Sonographer performs high quality diagnostic echocardiograms for outpatients. SUPERVISION: Reports directly to Nurse Manager and/or Charge Nurse RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Performs high quality peripheral vascular studies for outpatients. Performs high quality echocardiograms for outpatients. Processes ultrasound studies resulting in high quality images in a timely and efficient manner. Is knowledgeable of and implements procedures, protocols, standards and guidelines under ASE and the supervision of the cardiologist. Gathers, sends and interprets clinical data as assigned per doctors’ orders to cardiology PAC system. Documents legibly and charge daily procedures. Handles other duties as assigned.
