JOB DESCRIPTION: The Licensed Nurse Assistant is responsible for specific aspects of direct and indirect patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Responsibilities may include (but are not limited to): taking vital signs, responding to call lights, Electronic Medical Record documentation, personal care, including bathing, mouth care, toileting and skin care. The Student Nurse LNA Extern Program is open to UVM nursing students who have completed their Sophomore year . Through a mentoring relationship with Licensed Nurse Assistants , Student Nurse LNA Externs are able to provide direct patient care under the LNA scope of practice .
