IOP (intensive outpatient program) serves State College Area School District students in grades 6-12.  This is a unique partnership between UPMC and State College Area School District. The Intensive Outpatient Program supports adolescents who need treatment/services due to a psychiatric condition that is interfering with their ability to function successfully within the community/school. This program is designed to avoid a higher level of care or to use as a step-down service within a mental health continuum. Youth may receive psychiatric evaluations, medication management services, individual, group, or family counseling. Purpose: The Outpatient Behavioral Health Department provides services for adults who meet criteria for mental health and co-occurring disorders initiative with Allegheny County. This position works Monday through Friday with daylight hours and evening hours one day a week. The ideal candidate will have an interest in working with individuals who meet criteria for severe and persistent mental illness. The purpose of the Behavioral Health Therapist is to provide clinical treatment services to the targeted populations.
