The Lab Assistant performs routine laboratory specimen collection procedures including: venipuncture, capillary puncture, and urine collection. This position admits and orders laboratory work in the computer system, ensures integrity of all samples collected, receives, sorts and organizes requisitions, prepares samples and performs waived testing as appropriate and when trained under the supervision of a technologist, and performs other duties to support efficient operations of the laboratory. Requirements: Minimum six (6) months of experience working in a hospital or outpatient laboratory. Current Medical Assistant – Phlebotomist certification issued by the WA Department of Health.
